Prosper202 1.1.0 Ready, Now With Pixel and Postback URLs

Aug 02, 2008, by Wes Mahler, 10 comments

I think your going to love the new release of Prosper202, it now has a fully featured pixel and postback url tracking system. You can now use Prosper202 to track any PPC campaigns, regardless if your using an affiliate network with subid tracking or not.

The best part about the pixel tracking is you will now have a real-time view of your clicks and conversions happening live on your spy view! That also means if you install pixel tracking you don't have to manually update subids any more, it does it for you automatically as the leads come in!. This has been a highly requested feature by our users and it was only made possible because of your input. It now also supports post-back URLs, which previously before Justin Rumpf had made a script for, but there is now an official version of post-back urls embed into the software.

There is also an update to the spy view. The spy view will now show real time click throughs when a visitor comes to your landing page and then clicks through to the offer. Before it used to just show the potential path the vistior would have taken regardless if they actually clicked through. Now if a visitor clicks on your landing page and does nothing, the spy view will reflect that the visitor did not click through. And if the visitor did click through the spy view will only show the extra arrows, signifying that the visitor clicked through from your landing page to the acutal offer. This gives you a real-time view of visitors clicking through your landing page. Please note there is a 1 minute delay for clicks to be updated to reflect the click-through (if you click through to an offer it will take an extra minute for click to register a click-through). Start watching the spy view on the new version and you'll see what we mean!

PPV Affiliates! We have now added in support for tracking Media Traffic keywords automatically, with no extra work T202 will now pickup the keywords from the Media Traffic PPV network. Also we have added the pretty icons for the following networks; Media Traffic, Social Media, Zango, AdonNetwork, Clicksor and TrafficVance. Thanks to Mike Waldrum for submitting a list of the biggest PPV networks to us.

You'll also notice the Prosper202 width has been signficantly increased. We have moved from a 800px solid width to a liquid width that will go up to 1200px wide. This makes it so much easier looking at your stats on T202. We have fixed the bug that logs out users every-time they edit a text-ad as well. Also we have fixed a bug on the landing page analysis screen that would sometimes run a mysql error, and finally we have upgraded a few tables in your mysql database to help it scale better for the future.

And an important note about upgrading, this next update may take a long-time to compete please make sure you let once click update ONCE, and DO NOT STOP the update if it is running. Let the update finish, it may take longer than most updates.

We hope you enjoy this new version, try out the new pixel/postback url tracking and let us know what you think by saying hello on our Prosper202 Forums.

You can download the latest version 1.1.0 here, and you can find the upgrading instructions in our documentation docs.

Have any more countries that you'd like to see be added to WorldProxy202? Let us know by posting in our comments below, if enough people are interested we will add the country.

About Worldproxy202

WorldProxy202 is designed for affiliate marketers promoting international campaigns. We have put together in one location, proxies from around the world that affiliate marketers can now easily use to view international campaigns.

If for instance, there is a campaign that only accepts US traffic, anyone not in the US is blocked from seeing the offer. Now what if this is simply someone in Canada trying to promote a US related campaign but is unable to see it because Canada is a blocked from seeing the offer? This makes it extremely difficult sometimes for affiliate marketers to promote effectively overseas. WorldProxy202 is a simple application to solve all of that, and provide reliable proxy websites from around the world for affiliate marketers to use. If that same Canadian affiliate now uses a US Proxy with our services, they can now see the offer, and see everything like they were on a US computer.

We are committed to providing as many access points around the globe as needed, if you need a proxy location that is not listed please contact us below and we'll try to add it! Finally, like everything else we create, WorldProxy202 is a free service.

WARNING: Fake 202 Impostors on AIM

Jul 30, 2008, by Steven, 0 comments

I just wanted to make a quick blog post out there to alert everyone that there is the possibility of people going around posing to be 202 members either with fake emails or fake AIM screen names such as T202Name.

Please be advise that the only 202 team members ever to exist are all listed on the executive contact page. If their contact information does not match any of the people listed on that page, chances are, they are an imposter lying to you. I don't really know what their intent and purpose is nor do I really care. I firmly believe that it can't be of good faith if they had to lie about who they are in the first place. Thank you to all those that brought this to my attention.

Do not give them any of your information, they do not work for Prosper202 or anything related to our services. If they ask for your username and password do not give it to them or show them any information about your campaign as they are impostors and not real Prosper202 employees.

In reality, the only two contacts you guys will probably get in touch would should be T202Steven and T202Wes on AIM. If anyone messages you guys from something otherwise, please disregard it.

Things to remember when using Export 202 to scale Google campaigns to Yahoo

Jul 26, 2008, by Wes Mahler, 1 comments

This is a guest post by Ross Gordon. Ross has been a huge help to Tracking202 team, even from the earliest of days before we were even launched. Ross heads the blog over at phpBay Pro Tips, which helps people make money on the Ebay Publisher Network using phpBay. Ross has helped share ideas on building the Prosper202 products and applications, he has helped promote and he is also responsbile for creating the text on the Tracking202 homepage, and the Tracking202 about us page. Ross is sharing some tips on the Export202 product which he uses to scale his campaigns, Export202 can be accessed online at export202.com, or it is also avaliable in the self-hosted version of any Prosper202 installation. Thanks Ross for your help, and without further ado here is Ross' guest blog post.

I use Export 202 all the time to scale my campaigns across the three major networks. I typically start a campaign on Google, and after optimizing it there, I use Export 202 to bring that same campaign to Yahoo and MSN.

While Export 202 is an amazing tool that will save you hours of time, there are still a few things you should remember to do along the way, especially when exporting to Yahoo.

First, while Export 202 does translate Google campaigns to Yahoo, it does not create new URLs for each ad. So when you transfer the Google campaign to Yahoo, it will still be tracking clicks as Google, and that will screw up your metrics and will make your reporting much less valuable.

So you will need to create a new URL as you normally would. Select the same ad that you were using in Google, only make sure to use Yahoo has the search engine. Now go to your CSV file of the new Yahoo version of the campaign and find the ad you want to change, then copy the old URL and find & replace it using the new URL. Do this for all your ads (may take a little time if you have a lot of different ads).

Next, I make sure my bids are right. I have noticed that after I export a Google campaign that sometimes the yahoo version has a two bid prices in the CSV (even if I had content network disabled). There have been times when Yahoo used the bid from the content network as the bid for the search network. So I had all $0.05 bids. It’s no big deal if you have a few ad groups. But when you have 1000 changing manually in Yahoo is not an option. So I make sure to do a find & replace to make the low bid prices be what I want.

Another thing I like to do is lower all my bids from what they were in Google. Yahoo traffic tends to be cheaper (not always) so I like to drop my bids by 5-10 cents to start on cheaper keywords and $.50- $1.00 on expensive keywords. But test for yourself and see if your niche is cheaper on Yahoo.

The last thing I do is I add the negative keywords manually to the account or campaign level since I noticed that I tend to get error messages when I upload the CSV with the negative keywords. You want to make sure you don’t forget to do this or you could lose a good amount of cash.

That’s pretty much it. After that your campaign should be ready to roll.
